The Inspirations: About

The Inspirations originated in 1964 at Swain County High School in Bryson City, NC, when a few students and a teacher held nightly singing sessions purely for fun. Two year later they went on the road to sing professional Gospel Music. The Inspirations immediately took Southern Gospel Music by storm and have remained at its forefront achieving tremendous popularity and success.

With six songs voted Song of The Year in the Singing News Magazine: Jesus Is Coming Soon, Touring That City and Jesus Is Mine, I’ll Not Turn My Back On Him Now, We Need To Thank God and I Have Not Forgotten, The Inspirations have not slowed down one bit.

Now made up of the vocals of Archie Watkins (tenor), Eddie Deitz (baritone) Matt Dibler (lead) Marlin Shubert (bass) along with Roland Kesterson (bass guitar and vocals) Luke Vaught (pianist) and Casey Johnson (rhythm guitar and vocals) The Inspirations are carrying on the sound and tradition that made them one of the most well known names in Gospel Music.
